We continue to work with “Amar Es Servir School” (To Love Is To Serve School) in a barrio in Guatemala City. Amar Es Servir serves the very poor, providing food, clothing and an education for children that would otherwise not attend school. Due to the worsening economy in Guatemala more people find themselves with no means to provide for their children. These families make their living scavenging whatever is salvageable and selling it to buy food. Children as young as 3 years old can be found begging on the streets. We find more children standing at the door of our school begging for help. We find ourselves feeding 300 to 500 hundred children daily. The only way to break this cycle of poverty is through education.

Matthew 25:34-46   Jesus’ says we will be rewarded for giving of ourselves to others in His name.

Proverbs 19:17        He who gives to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what has been given.
